Here, we’ve exposed the process and script behind building a multivariate regression analysis. In this dataset, there are hourly readings from a power plant for the following variables:
- Ambient Pressure
- Exhaust Vacuum
- Relative Humidity
All of these are possible contributing factors to Net Energy Output. In this DXP, we are going to replicate the basic Spotfire features for multivariate regression using TERR.
Exposing the process and the script will allow you to further customize the process, use alternate models, or expand your control over the output.
The Multivariate Regression template demonstrates the TERR function for modeling a multivariate regression. Includes a sample data set, basic MVR model in Spotfire, and MVR using TERR Script.

A template is an analysis file created in TIBCO Spotfire. The intended use is to replace the data and utilize the configured visualizations and calculations.
- Download the template to your personal machine. Login into your own Spotfire server and open the downloaded file.
- Review the tables shown on the data load page. These are the tables you'll replace.
- Replace the data with another Excel sheet or connect the template directly to your database or platform.
- Customize with your own data. You are free to embed and incorporate your template into other projects.
