Data

Two data tables are required: well header and production history. Well header table should have well name, longitude and latitude columns. Production history data table should have well name, production date, and rate columns.

Method

Tools for decline curve analysis abound in the oil and gas space, but there is a hardly any that does just the simplest thing: draw standard decline model plots using production history data to enable asset managers easily determine decline model. That is the essence of this tool – dynamically creating a combination of log and linear plots using cumulative production, rate and time data so that engineers can make visual inference without doing math.

Identifying a model is the first step in decline analysis. This tool simplifies the first step in creating a decline curve.

Installation

A template is an analysis file created in TIBCO Spotfire. The intended use is to replace the data and utilize the configured visualizations and calculations.

  1. Download the template to your personal machine. Login into your own Spotfire server and open the downloaded file.
  2. Review the tables shown on the data load page. These are the tables you'll replace.
  3. Replace the data with another Excel sheet or connect the template directly to your database or platform.
  4. Customize with your own data. You are free to embed and incorporate your template into other projects.
  5. All done!

Spotfire Templates are provided as is and do not require licenses.
