One of the fundamental questions of a reservoir engineer is determining the inflow performance relationship. We’ve developed a unique template that allows you to answer that question using a data function built on TIBCO’s Runtime Engine for R. Using Spotfire, you can then visualize and integrate the empirical inflow performance relationship curve with other analyses.


Building the curve is easy:

  1. Enter values in the input parameters fields as appropriate.
  2. Specify the number of pressure points that the flow rate will be simulated for in the Step text field
  3. Specify the lowest wellbore pressure point that the flow rate will be simulated for in the Low Value text field
  4. Specify a wellbore pressure point of interest that will be included in the simulation in Include Value text field
  5. Select any or both methods from Calculation Method list box
  6. Simulate!


A template is an analysis file created in TIBCO Spotfire. The intended use is to replace the data and utilize the configured visualizations and calculations.

  1. Download the template to your personal machine. Login into your own Spotfire server and open the downloaded file.
  2. Review the tables shown on the data load page. These are the tables you'll replace.
  3. Replace the data with another Excel sheet or connect the template directly to your database or platform.
  4. Customize with your own data. You are free to embed and incorporate your template into other projects.
  5. All done!

Spotfire Templates are provided as is and do not require licenses.
